Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer, born in 1963, has been CEO of the Messe München Group since July 2022. In a CEO dual leadership, he is responsible together with Stefan Rummel for the overall management and coordination of the Messe München Group.

He is responsible for capital goods and technology trade fairs with brands such as BAU, electronica, productronica, automatica, LASER World of PHOTONICS, analytica, LOPEC and INTERFORST and their counterparts worldwide, as well as the consumer trade fair f.re.e. He is also responsible for the business unit guest events and congresses, including the Locations ICM and MOC.

Internally, he is responsible for the central divisions of Finance & Legal, Construction & Technology, Group Steering & Sales, Product Marketing & Communications, as well as Corporate Liaison and Protocol & Events. He manages the central division Product Marketing & Communications and Corporate Marketing & Communications together with Stefan Rummel.

Pfeiffer began his professional career at Messe München GmbH in 2008 as a member of the Management Board and has been Deputy Chairman of the Management Board since 2014.

Among other things, Pfeiffer is Chairman of the Board of MM Shanghai and a member of the Executive Board of AUMA, the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry, and the GDG, the Association of German Trade Fairs, as well as a member of the DIHK Tourism Committee, the Advisory Board of Bayern LB and ADAC Südbayern e. V.

He is married and has two children. He enjoys spending his free time in the mountains.

Stefan Rummel was born in Heidelberg in 1977 and became the CEO of the Messe München Group in July 2022. Along with Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer, he is responsible for the overall management and coordination of the Messe München Group.

Rummel is responsible for the investment and consumer goods trade fairs bauma, IFAT, EXPO REAL, IAA MOBILITY, transport logistic, INHORGENTA, and ceramitec worldwide.

He is also responsible for the central divisions of Corporate Strategy & Development, People & Culture, Operations, Business Units 1, and Mobility, as well as Corporate Governance and Corporate Marketing & Communications (together with Dr. Pfeiffer).

Rummel joined Messe München in 2010 and was appointed to the Management Board in 2015.

He studied business administration in Munich, Wiesbaden, and New York and graduated with a Master of Science in Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship.

Prior to joining Messe München, he worked at the Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG), Horváth & Partners, and the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship in Munich.

Rummel represents Messe München on the board of the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) and sits on the board of directors of the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI).

He is married, has two children, and is a passionate guitar player.
