COVID-19

Messe München is observing the current developments in connection with COVID-19 (coronavirus SARS-CoV-2) very closely. It is our top priority to deal responsibly with this situation. Its dynamic development makes it necessary to reassess the situation on a daily basis. We are therefore in close contact with the relevant authorities and are taking their recommendation into account with regard to holding events.

The health of our visitors, exhibitors and employees has top priority for us at Messe München. Since the outbreak of the coronavirus we have therefore stepped up necessary safety precautions. From Tuesday, March 17, 2020, Messe München employees will mainly work on a mobile basis until further notice.

According to the press release (only in German language) issued by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy on 26 May 2020, trade fairs can be held again from 1 September.

Powerful Mission for Your Safety

Munich is the safest big city in Germany. Also our exhibition grounds meet the highest security standards. In close cooperation with the police and authorities, we provide for your safety with comprehensive security measures.

Around-the-clock, on 365 days a year, permanently employed staff ensure your safety at the Messe München exhibition facility. During events, assistance and reinforcement is provided by additional staff, police officers, firemen, doctors and paramedics—directly on site and always close to you.

Security service and security control center

Our security service staff is deployed throughout the entire exhibition area around the clock. The security staff control access at all entrances and driveways and check the traffic. They help you in case of accidents, damage claims and thefts. In emergencies and in case of safety-related events, they are immediately on the scene.

First aid for medical emergencies

The medical service is constantly present at events—from setup throughout the entire trade show and stand dismantling period. The first-aid stations are located in the main entrances West and East, as well as in Hall C4, depending on hall occupancy. Paramedics and physicians will treat medical emergencies directly on the spot. If necessary, the public rescue service (ambulance) is called in to provide assistance.

Fire department and fire safety

During major events and shows, the fire department maintains a guard station directly on the exhibition grounds. Moreover, the fire protection service regularly informs and advises us on fire prevention measures.

In case of fire: Please immediately activate the nearest fire alarm. Fire alarm devices are installed right next to the gates in every hall.

Police during trade shows

During our events, officials from the Munich Police Department are present on the exhibition grounds and in the surrounding area. They direct traffic and ensure a high degree of security with a wide range of measures. The local police station is open 24 hours.

Emergency procedures for evacuating the halls

In an emergency, we alert our exhibitors and visitors via the public address system in several languages. Use the official escape routes marked with green signs. In case of an evacuation, be sure to strictly follow the instructions of our security staff.

Safety precautions at increased threat conditions

We are in constant communication with the police and the authorities, enabling us to deal with increased threat situations at any time. Working together, we can respond to any security incidents at short notice and adjust, extend or enhance our security measures.
