With the European Championships Munich 2022, Munich is hosting Germany’s biggest sport event since the 1972 Olympic Games. The sporting event will combine nine European Championships under one roof.
At the second edition of the European Championships, the event schedule will see a revamped and improved sport programme. From 11 to 21 August, more than 4,700 athletes will compete in nine sports: athletics, beach volleyball, canoe sprint, cycling, gymnastics, rowing, sport climbing, table tennis, and triathlon, while canoe sprint and rowing include over a dozen para-events!
Olympiapark will become the centrepiece of the European Championships 2022 hosting multiple sports. Munich 2022 is not going to be confined to the perimeters of Olympiapark however. Messe München will stage the track cycling events. Europe’s best track cycling athletes will make their rounds on a temporary track in Messe München and compete for 22 sets of medals.
In addition to top sporting performances, everyone can look forward to a varied festival programme, The Roofs that will round off Munich 2022 culturally and make it a holistic, unforgettable experience.
