Construction machinery fair M&T Expo in Brazil is postponed due to the crisis

June 1, 2018

The construction machinery fair M&T Expo in Brazil has been postponed due to the crisis triggered by the nationwide strike by truck drivers in the South American country.

  • Messe München and its Brazilian partner Sobratema are thus reacting to the exhibitors’ wishes
  • M&T Expo to take place instead in the second half of 2018

The trade fair was planned for the beginning of June (June 5–8, 2018) in Sᾶo Paulo—and for the first time with the participation of Messe München, which had concluded a cooperation agreement for this purpose with the Brazilian association Sobratema in 2017 and founded its own subsidiary company.

It is in the interests of the exhibitors to postpone M&T Expo. Most of them had asked the organizers not to let the fair—the second biggest in South America—take place at the time planned. Instead, M&T Expo is to be held in the second half of 2018 at the Sᾶo Paulo Expo Centre.

“This decision is intended to ensure the safety of all exhibitors, suppliers, service partners and visitors of the fair”, state Stefan Rummel, Managing Director, Messe München and Afonso Mamede, President of Sobratema.
